Separation anxiety is a normal developmental stage where children experience anxiety when they are separated from their parent. Some children have no separation anxiety and some children experience anxiety for several weeks. It is important to comfort the child and let them know it is okay to cry or feel upset. Teachers manage separation by utilizing proven strategies to lessen the unknown, such as classroom visitation, consistent schedules and routines, bringing familiar items from home, and creating a open and honest communication with parents.
The first few days of school are known as “School Phase-In.” During this transition period children will meet their teachers and classmates, and are gradually familiarized with school and classroom routines. Parents or guardians will receive a specific schedule for your child's transition. If you are in doubt as to whether you should leave the classroom ask your child’s teacher. The length of time it takes before your child attends a full schedule will depend on the age and the individual child.
Children are all unique and we wait for the child to adapt to the new environs.

It is not unusual for us to have children start with us who do not speak English. Our teachers and carers can speak few other languages and important words from several other languages. They are adept at making each child feel welcome and included in all activities, and parents will notice a burst of language early on. Children understand expressions and tones. Children learn languages quickly, and our teachers are proficient in encouraging children to gradually begin to express themselves confidently.

Play is an important part of the day. Through play, children learn important skills that help them learn in their Kindergarten classroom. They learn problem solving, conflict resolution, and trial and error. They practice their literacy, math, and language skills. They learn how to work with others and how to socialize positively with their peers.

Activity-based learning is the process of learning by doing. It indulges students in activities by stimulating their senses, such as sight, smell, vision or feeling, and getting them involved in the subject. Students actively participate in their own learning experience through practical activities such as problem-solving and independent investigation.
ABL gives every student opportunity to learn at their own pace through teacher facilitated exercises. Kiidz Craft follows Activity-based learning methodology that make learning fun and in turn helps students remember what they study.

Activity-Based Learning (ABL) has many benefits.

  1. It helps students learn and retain information.
  2. It encourages students to be independently inquisitive, think critically, and learn from their own experience.
  3. It supports their acquisition of knowledge outside (as well as inside) the educational environment
  4. It encourages kids to take responsibility for their own learning experience
  5. Group-based activity work also helps students develop teamwork and social skills. These skills will later prove essential to their work and social life.
  6. It helps kids understand the ‘real-life’ relevance of learning material by encouraging them to explore and solve realistic problems and scenarios.
  7. This learning method provides students with the opportunity to express what they have learnt through the act of doing as well as through the act of verbal presentation.

The Montessori approach to education has its central thought the development of the human potential. Montessori is a systematic approach to the education of children. It is much more than a method of childcare; it is a whole attitude of care and respect for young children.
Montessori children develop independence, responsibility, concentration, respect, patience and, most importantly, a love of learning. Montessori education is also considered to be an extension of the home, where parent and teacher work together in guiding the child in cognitive, social, physical, emotional and spiritual development. Montessori education does not simply educate children to accomplish specific tasks but rather educates them for life.

Kiidz Craft follows Activity-based learning methodology that make learning fun and in turn helps students remember what they study. Some of the ABL methods used at Kiidz Craft are as follows :

  1. Projects - Students get to familiarize with the project topic they are working on. Having regular project work not only increases subject knowledge but also breaks monotony and increases the curiosity to learn more and with clarity.
  2. Videos – Students get bored of seeing the teacher's writing board all the time. For decades now, videos have taken the center stage in grabbing attention. Any form of a video, be it a documentary, a movie, a lesson or a short video featuring news will earn the interest of students. Exposure to animation through video classes helps the students to overcome their boredom and enjoy their learning.
  3. Interactive Session - Encouraging students to be interactive in class is the best way to get them involved. Teacher takes utmost care of expressing that she loves to hear doubts is a very motivating factor for a student to pay attention to the lessons. If the students are not interactive during the class, the teacher has a separate question and answer session to get everyone talking.
  4. Skit - Students, especially young learners, express well through play and role plays. Students love to be a part of teaching and learning. Teacher plans her lessons in such a way that students are involved to explain a lesson by depicting it. Although the depiction could not be taken in the literal sense, it helps in breaking the monotony of the lessons
  5. Storyboard - Storyboards, though time consuming, is best suited for young students. Students see and learn from Storyboard. Either the teacher makes it or asks students to do it and put it up in the classroom so that they get to see it often and absorb the concepts.
  6. Puzzles And Games - Who does not like to play in classroom? Getting some scrabble games, word puzzles or flash cards to solve and teach new words or new concepts keeps students engaged in something new through Play way method.
  7. Thematic classroom- Converting classrooms according to the themes creates excitement in young learners. We create our own thematic class room space to incorporate the excitement and create a conducive environment for the period.

No, Currently, the classrooms are not air-conditioned but they are well ventilated.

We typically determine the placement or group of your child based on age; however, we consider many other factors like height, upon deciding the make up of a classroom. Such factors would include: boy to girl ratio, different personalities, age, readiness, social emotional development, etc

Beginning with Play, moving on to ABL and then on to Montessori and then simple structured elements of teaching and training, Kiidz Craft helps the students understand all the models of learning in future. Thus our perfect mix of Activity Based Learning (ABL) and Montesorri method of training enables every child to adopt any board of Education – Maharashtra state board, or CBSE board or the ICSE board. Please peruse the testimonials from alumni students, parents to confirm your assessment of Kiidz Craft.

The medium of instruction is English. In the beginning your child only understands the language of love. Hence the words and expressions of the teacher matter a lot in the beginning. Gradually as our teachers and carers build trust, they converse in a language that your child can understand (English, Hindi, Marathi – our carer also speaks Tamil and Gujarati). Our goal as the educational weeks and years progress, is that your child will naturally progress to conversing in English.

As the children are in the technology generation, Technology is used in classrooms, but only as a purposeful tool for learning. The amount of technology used in the classroom, and when it is used depends on activity designed by the teacher. However, teachers know that there needs to be a balance when it comes to technology use and understand that many students have access to technology at home, too. Classrooms may also have Large Smart TVs, iPads with learning tools and apps to be used during structured learning time.

Periodically, Kiidz Craft organises different scholastic or extra-curricular or hobby Classes. These short duration classes are held at convenient times in the school premises. Announcements are made 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course. Read more enrichment courses

  2. Nursery : 8.00am to 10.30 am

  3. A handkerchief for personal use. For wiping face, nose, hands et al.

Yes! Your child must carry a snack from home. In fact, parents are asked to send a small snack and juice or water with their child daily. Snacks/lunch box must be labelled with your child’s name. We recommend that snacks be nutritious and non-perishable. Suggestions for healthy snacks include: fruits, small sandwiches, vegetables, muffins, and cereal. 100% fruit juice or water is the recommended drink

No, we do NOT recommend your child bring any toys from home.
We provide all necessary materials for our teaching program; your child does not need to bring in anything. We do not recommend sending in special/expensive toys with your child—these have a tendency to get lost or broken. In the rarest case, if your child brings any such thing, with your knowledge, please inform the teacher about its need. If the toy has been bought to the class without your knowledge, the teacher may safe-keep it during the class hours and hand it over to you when you pick up the child. Although we try to monitor children’s belongings, our main concern is the safety and engagement of all our students; we cannot guarantee the security of any child’s belongings and will not be held responsible for lost or damaged items.

The moment you realise some item is amiss, please contact the teacher. Lost and Found items are kept in a cupboard/rack for claims by parents or children within reasonable time. We also suggest parents label all the belongings of their child with the Name. This will help in identifying and establishing ownership easily.
All unclaimed lost and found items are donated to charity at the end of the school year.

For the 3 levels of classes, the drop off times are 15 minutes before the class time. In case of Playschool children, there may be special times informed for some students to get over the initial parental separation pangs.
Parents are advised against dropping of students earlier than desired, as it is a security/safety risk to the child. We do not take responsibility for such early drop off/drop ins.

Children become upset when their parents are not on time. Hence it is important for the carer/teacher to know of any delay in picking up the child after school end hours. Your child will be taken care off to adjust to this delay. However, if this delay is extended for a few or more days, the teacher/carer may call for a Parent-teacher meet to handle the situation. At the management’s discretion, The management may seek extra remuneration for the extended hours of work by the staff. Staff members are never allowed to transport children home.

If someone other than the regular pick-up person is coming to pick up your child, please let your child and the staff know – preferably in writing! We will ask for ID before we release your child to the person picking up your child. Such person will sign a document stating the pick-up authorisation.

Usually, if there are any specifics, the teacher/carer will verbally inform you about the instances in the day. Later, a note may be written in a book/diary to parents on a daily or need basis. These notes include information such as: books read, songs and music sang, activities, outdoor play time, etc… Sometimes Pictures and even videos are shared with the parent!

Discipline is a process of learning self-control, respect for others, and responsibility. Positive methods of discipline will be practiced at all times so children are aware of an acceptable code of conduct at school. Efforts to help students understand behaviours that are allowed, accepted, and encouraged will be used. Other stop-and-think strategies that lead to positive results through positive reinforcement, good role modeling and redirection will also be used. For any on-going issues, teachers will communicate with parents so that school and home are working together with a child’s best interests in mind.

We invite and encourage parents to get involved in their child’s preschool experience by participating in festivals, events, teaching-learning practices, parent-teacher meetings & by attending periodic workshops on childcare and parenting. We also encourage parent teacher interaction through our monthly curriculum summary & communication diary.
